Stockton has long been home to the two meanest mugs in mixed martial arts, the Diaz brothers, but now another Stockton native will be making his way to the big stage.
On April 1, Josh Thornburg, a 6-2 member of the infamous Cesar Gracie Fight Team, will replace the injured Conor Huen to take on James Terry in a welterweight bout.
Thornburg made his Strikeforce debut earlier this month at Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson, losing a unanimous decision to rising star Roger Bowling.
James Terry is 4-1 in Strikeforce, and 9-1 overall. He is on a two fight win streak, defeating Lucas Gamaza by knockout in January.
The rest of the Strikeforce Challengers card slated for April 1 looks like this:
Main Event: Justin Wilcox vs. Rodrigo Damm
Satoshi Ishii vs. Scott Lighty
David Douglas vs. Caros Fodor
Josh Thornburg vs. James Terry
Damian Douglas vs. Wayne Phillips
